Overview

The tour starts on the Naviglio Grande, while you listen to your informative commentary you cruise towards one of the oldest and most beautiful churches in the city: San Cristoforo the favourite church for wedding celebrations In the city.
Proceeding along the Naviglio Grande you will come across the famous Vicolo dei Lavandai, an architectural jewel named after the Confraternity of the Launderers. Since the 18th century, this guild was in charge of washing the linen of wealthy families in the iconic washhouse still existing today.
Crossing the Scodellino bridge, you reach the modern and famous Darsena, an area of entertainment and recreation on the water, one of the center of Milanese nightlife.
Leaving the Darsena, you will come the to the Conchetta, the first of the 14 navigation basins that connect Milan and Pavia. Designed by Leonardo da Vinci it's still working, five century after its construction.

Vicolo dei Lavandai (Washermen's Alley) in milanese dialect it was called Vicol di bugandee (from bugada, means laundry). Along the stream fed by the Naviglio Grande (el fossett) until the 1950s, the clothes of wealthy Milanese families were washed. You can visit this site before or after cruise.
