Varenna

Lake Como is a treasure of nature, wonderful landscapes and culture. Charming towns and superb villas, with gardens decorated with marble statues and exotic plants will surprise you. In the morning depart from Milan with your professional guide by train and in just 1 hour you will reach the charming Varenna, an attractive village on the eastern shore of Lake Como, looking over the central part of the lake towards Bellagio. Varenna's picturesque lanes and old fishermen's houses are unpretentiously appealing, and some visitors prefer the town to its grander neighbors.

Bellagio

From Varenna you will experience a boat-cruise to Bellagio situated upon the cape of the land mass that divides Lake Como in two. Called the “Pearl of the Lake”, Bellagio's world class hotels and restaurants provide the perfect place to soak up the lake's famous panorama. Here you will have time for free lunch and shopping.

Villa Carlotta

After lunch your tour continues to Tremezzo and Villa Carlotta; the transfer will give you the chance to relax in the afternoon admiring the spectacular mountains and the stunning villas, once the homes of aristocrats, now the playgrounds for the jet set. Villa Carlotta is a place of rare beauty, where masterpieces of nature and art live together in perfect harmony in over 70.000 square meters of gardens and museum. It offers an elegant Neoclassical interior with a sculpture gallery which includes works by Antonio Canova, but the extensive and impeccably manicured gardens which sprawl in both directions from the villa will truly take your breath away.

After the visit your guide will escort you back to Varenna and from there you will get the train to Milan.

Perfect day trip from Milan to Lake Como. Well organized with visits to three beautiful towns on Lake Como and a boat ride on Lake Como. Our guide Emilio was fantastic. He was warm, personable, enthusiastic, and very knowledgeable about the area, it’s history, and local places of interest. We would highly recommend this Day trip.

I would do this tour again in a heartbeat! The forecast was for 95% chance of rain. We took the chance, and did not cancel!! So so glad that I didn’t!! Don’t trust the forecast, just go. We got rain very early in, then completely stopped, then we had beautiful clouds lying between the mountains, and then there were blue skys after!! We experienced the different sceneries!! Breath taking both ways!! Our tour guide Renzo was magnificent! He loves history and he shared it so well with us.. He is so passionate about all the details of the art pieces, the historical buildings, Villa Carlotta and making sure we got the most out of our full day around the cities in Como! He is so knowledgeable and excited to share with us all details, that we will not forget it. It made every thing come to life. It was worth it all. We ordered the fresh catch of the day which was astounding, and we bought beautiful silk scarves and leather goods. The ferry ride was just amazing.We want to go back!!

This Lake Como trip is a relaxing beautiful trip. Our guide Renzo was extremely accommodating. When we said our primary purpose was to take pictures, he turned off his historical overview and guided us to great picture spots. At the end of our trip he asked where else in Italy were we going and he gave great suggestions and tips to Rome and Venice as well
