What To Expect

Pinacoteca Ambrosiana
Make your way to the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana in Milan, just five minutes away from the famous Piazza Duomo.

With your entry ticket in hand, you'll step straight inside the museum to enter the exhibit of the Codex Atlanticus: Leonardo da Vinci’s personal collection of drawings and notes.

Offering insight into the creative mind of the Renaissance artist and inventor, the exhibit showcases select pages from the collection, and these are rotated regularly. If you want to see the rest — the Codex Atlanticus has more than 1,000 pages — head to the museum’s library. Your admission ticket grants access to all the main areas of the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana.

Explore its halls to see works of art by Botticelli, Titian, Raphael, and more. Caravaggio’s Basket of Fruit, a still-life painting, is just one of the highlights.

How long you stay inside the museum is up to you. The recommended visit time is 1.5 hours.

A must see event

What an amazing event. Masterpiece after masterpiece. Guides to help and explain the importance and history behind each artwork. 3 floors and seeing Leonardo Di Vinci’s works displayed was truly amazing.

Phenomenal Collection in An Awesome Building- What’s Not to Love
ElTouristo61, 05-10-2022
A must-stop for any casual or dedicated art lover! The name Leonardo DaVinci alone should be enough to draw visitors to the Pinacoteca di Ambrosiana in Central Milan, and indeed it is, but there is so much more to love about the gallery’s collection. Set in a beautiful palazzo sometimes the building itself is the work of art. You’ll need at least 2 hours to see the collection, more so if you like to linger over a Brueghel, Botticelli, or the large scale “cartoon” by Raphael. Of course the piece de resistance is DaVinci’s “Codex Atlanticus” (of which several pages are on display) and his painting “The Musician.” And despite the masterpieces contained within the collection, the gallery was quite empty and so we enjoyed a leisurely and unencumbered view of the art.
A real hidden gem

Incredible -
the Raphael cartoon - what a wow!
Caravaggio - but who isn't excited by his work
to be in the presence of genius - Da Vinci's Codex

Buy your tickets direct at the Ambrosini - no queue, nothing like the Last Supper crush and commercialism .
