What To Expect
Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II
Meet your guide in mid-afternoon outside the Piazza del Duomo. After entering the huge church, your licensed English-speaking tour guide will lead you downstairs to visit the hidden unexpected archaeological evidence of a building which was there before the Duomo was built, i.e. parts of an older church, an octagonal baptistery and tombs. Then, after coming up in the Cathedral, your guide will teach you something special about Milan's most renowned curiosities from the sundial trail to the ritual of the Holy Nail, to the story of the Apostle who was skinned alive and much more. After being inside the Duomo, you will reach the Terraces of the Cathedral by elevator. Please note that there is no skip-the-line available for the elevator rides. After just fifty steps you will arrive to a breathtaking panoramic view over the city and you will feel like you literally have Milan at your feet.

The tour guide was excellent and easily the best part of this experience. She was very friendly and knowledgeable as well as funny. She also helped us get some grate photos. Finally, she did a great job of mixing the history of the Duomo and recent stories of Milan together.

We absolutely loved the tour.
